William F. “Buddy” Norwood is a 5th generation local, born in Honolulu, and raised in Waikiki. His family originally came to Hawaii in 1832, so his Hawaii roots run deep. He attended Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, Punahou School and the University of Hawaii.
Buddy moved to the Big Island in 1969, lured by the world famous deep-sea fishing off the Kona Coast. At the urging of a Realtor friend, he earned his real estate license in 1979 and his Broker’s license in 1981.
From his youth, with the encouragement of his father, Buddy has had a fascination with Hawaiian history. For well over 30 years, he’s been involved with the Kona Historical Society, which has allowed him many unique opportunities to explore the landscape and learn more of the history of the Big Island.
In 1989, Buddy joined Maryl Realty, now Coldwell Banker Maryl Realty. CBMR is owned by the Maryl Group, a highly regarded development / construction company with offices in Honolulu and in Kona. He has 30 plus years of selling residential, vacant land, condos and commercial real estate, from resort properties to farm land.
No one knows the Big Island better. Buddy loves to share his knowledge and deep appreciation of Hawaii with people wanting to make the Big Island their home. His desire to help people find their own perfect place in paradise works hand in hand with his continuing love for the unique and varied natural beauty of the Big Island.
Seasoned with experience – that’s Buddy.
